Did you know that there are around 30 enthusiastic local volunteers behind the running of FEAST?
By becoming one of the team you can have a real role in helping to shape the local community and have a real impact in the place you live.
Over the past year volunteers have not only planned, managed and run a monthly market, but have also held a three day weekend of free cinema srceenings, commissioned and developed a new brand identity for FEAST, supported work experience for local school students, held weekly volunteers meetings and generally had a lot of fun. We are continuing to work on the forthcoming FEAST markets as well as the Winter Lights event to be held on Saturday 7 December.
Some of our volunteers have been involved in FEAST since the very beginning in 2011, some have only recently got involved and are keen to help make West Norwood a better place to live. There is a core group who attend the serious meetings and talk about finance, governance and future strategy without which we couldn’t function. Most volunteers, however, come along to the weekly Tuesday meetings at the Railway Tavern, Tulse Hill, 6.30pm – 8pm or stop by the market on FEAST days to help at hub tables, hand out leaflets or get crafty with the children’s activities.
FEAST is always on the look-out for new, local volunteers to help fill such roles as, Hub Leader, Volunteer Coordinator, Entertainments Coordinator, FEAST day stewards and helpers. It doesn’t matter whether you can offer all day help on market days, or just a couple of hours every now and again, everyone is welcome.
