West Norwood will be playing host to the June FEAST on Sunday 2 June 2013, 10am - 4pm. Alongside the usual offerings, there will be a free sewing workshop at the Artisans Market from 11am onwards, for adults and children aged 10+. Put your creative head on and come along to our craft workshop. Local maker, Rachel Dolan, will be here to guide you through funky brooch making along with fancy card making and party bunting. Retro Village, Rosebery’s Auction House
There will be an eclectic cornucopia of vintage treasures including kitchenalia, a wondrous array of colourful pottery and unusual ornaments, vintage clothing, jewellery, accessories and bric-a-brac. The Record Man will be spinning his discs all day and coffee from possibly the UK’s greenest coffee van.
Food Fair, In front of St. Luke’s church
This month we are pleased to welcome the FEAST debuts of Organically Prepared: Back to Eden and Native, together with regular favourites, Volcano Coffee, Curry Cook House, TriniJam, Fiendish and Goode, Bunting and Pops, the Original Fry Up and Vegan Tart amongst others.
Artisans Market, Chatsworth Way junction with Norwood Road
Handmade jewellery, toys, baby clothes, screen printed items and digital prints of the area, as well as textiles, homewares and ceramics from local artists and makers.
Fresh ‘n’ Green, at the junction of Norwood Road/York Hill/ Lancaster Avenue
FEAST trading debut this month for the Lemon Tree – selling all things made with lemons and Pea Green Books. Regular favourites this month include Floral Hall, Drum and Kernel Popcorn, Levain Bakery, Dulwich Tails and Tiger Spring Tea any many more.
June Bazaar at the Portico Gallery, 23a Knights Hill, 10am – 4pm (opposite Rosebery’s Auction House)
Monthly offering of arts and crafts from local artists and markers. Plus the gallery will be exhibiting the cityscape carousel on loan from the Greek Temple in West Norwood Cemetery. The carousel is a modern-day magic lantern featuring scenes from the London cityscape. It is the size of a small room standing 3 metres high. The carousel projects silhouettes from all the seven cemeteries around London - West Norwood, Highgate, Kensal Green, Nunhead, Abeny Park, Brompton Cemetery and Tower Hamlets.
Norwood and Brixton Foodbank, 10am – 4pm, Food Fair
The Norwood and Brixton Foodbank is based at St. Luke’s Church. The team will be on hand at the Food Fair to explain their work and to take any donations. The Foodbank are urgently seeking donations of non-perishable items, in particular they are asking for full fat UHT milk, tinned sweetcorn, mushrooms, green beans, sponge puddings, rice puddings and instant mash. Kings College Dental Institute, 10am – 4pm, Food Fair
The team from the Kings College Dental Institute will be on hand promoting the work of the Institute in the local area. They will also be conducting research about what the local population want or need from proposed dental services at the Norwood Joint Services Centre.
