South London’s favourite community market is back with a fresh new look on Sunday 7 April 2013, 10am – 4pm.
The West Norwood FEAST is like no other market, being entirely run by local people through a network of volunteers with the support and funding of Lambeth Council and the Greater London Authority.
The monthly outdoor market is more than just the exchange of money for goods – it’s a celebration of the diversity, talent and entrepreneurial skills of the area. As such, we commissioned local artists, illustrators, sign writers and carpenters to create our new design and signage.
Highlights for Sunday 7 April include:
Retro Village – outside Rosebery’s Auction House – the Retro traders have spent the last few months curating their collections, come down early to browse their unique pieces from Ladybird books to vintage kitchenalia. The Record Man will be spinning discs all day and if you fancy a cup of coffee why not try Tryencore Coffee, possibly the greenest coffee van in the UK!
The Food Fair – outside St. Luke’s Church – delicious local produce to eat on the go including hot puddings as well as cakes! All day breakfasts come to FEAST with the Original Fry-Up Material, who make their own sausages, served with eggs in a muffin. There will also be flatbreads, vegan kebabs, pulled pork and much more on the day.
Artisans – on Chatsworth Way – handmade jewellery, toys, baby clothes, screen printed items and digital prints of the local area. Blingyabike will be at the Artisans Hub providing free bike repairs as well as the chance to ‘pimp up’ your bike, board or scooter.
Fresh ‘n’ Green – junction of Norwood Road/York Hill/Lancaster Avenue – previously known as Gardeners Corner, FEAST now brings more stalls selling fresh produce as well as plants and herbs, including stalls from the Giggly Pig, Tiger Spring Tea, Peeps Treats, and Core Juice. Local Greens will be launching their new collection point outside Beamish and McGlue offering free tastings of wild garlic dip.
