West Norwood will soon be home to its very own Picturehouse cinema which is planned to be built on the site of Nettlefold Hall in early 2014, but instead of waiting until the grand opening next year, we thought the good residents of SE27 would like a little open air taster of what’s to come.
The organisers of West Norwood Feast – the monthly volunteer powered market and Picturehouse Cinemas – invite you to come and experience a three night, pop-up cinema event right in the heart of West Norwood, on the grounds of St Luke’s Church, Norwood High Street, SE27.
The open-air event will run over three nights showing popular classics, giving residents a taste of the type of movies the Picturehouse will show when they open in the area next year.
The screenings are as follows:
Friday 13th Sept – The Life of Pi (cert PG)
Saturday 14th Sept – Some Like it Hot
Sunday 15th Sept – The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel (cert 12A)
This is a free event enabled by the generosity of Picturehouse Cinemas who kindly supplied the screen and equipment and with the support and organisation of the volunteers of West Norwood Feast.
This is a ticketed event and tickets will be released from 16th August 2013.
Each evening, guests can gain access to the venue on presentation of a valid ticket – doors open from 7pm, film starts at 8pm.
There is a limit to 150 tickets per evening, so please book your ticket in advance by calling The Ritzy Picturehouse booking line on: 0871 902 5739.
West Norwood residents can get priority booking for one week ahead of tickets going on general sale, just confirm your postcode at time of booking.
Guest will be encouraged to bring a picnic, a blanket and soft drinks.
There will be a selection of hot food stalls on site, a Picturehouse bar and hot drinks from West Norwood’s own Volcano Coffee.
Feast actively supports our local High Street and we encourage all visitors of Feast to use the range of local independent shops and attractions on Norwood Road and Knights Hill. We are delighted to welcome Picturehouse Cinemas to our neighborhood. Together we can live local, love local.
