Do you remember where you were four years ago when probably the most jaw-droppingly incredible opening ceremony took place in Beijing? Probably the same place as you were when Andy Murray was losing at Wimbledon this year… watching on the telly.
We’re inviting you to enjoy undoubtedly the most exciting thing to happen in London this year with friends. Watch the Olympic Opening Ceremony at St Luke’s Church, West Norwood. The event will be broadcast live on a giant screen on Friday 27th July and coincidentally, we’re having a party.
With more than a million extra people arriving in London, the eyes of the world will on our capital. Here in West Norwood, however, we’ll be celebrating in local style with the family and neighbours, outside St Luke’s Church.
As with the usual great Sunday Feast vibe, from 7pm there’ll a bar, kids activities and simply delicious food stalls from early evening, tea and coffee in the church and an undercover area in case of a shower.
With ten thousand volunteers and almost thirty thousand props and costumes Danny Boyle is sure to deliver a spectacle. So grab a bottle and a picnic blanket and come along. The kids will be kept busy while we all enjoy the magnificent spectacle/damp squib.
The clever organisers of that sports event have scheduled the coverage to start at 20:12 (8.12pm), but get there early and ensure a good spot.
