FEAST is a people-powered market that takes place the first Sunday of every month from April to December. At each FEAST you can explore the five hubs – Food, Artisans, Fresh’n’Green, Family and Retro – all brimming with fantastic stalls and friendly sellers, meet new people (some of them might even be your neighbours!), enjoy free entertainment from local performers and free children’s activities and perhaps even new a learn skill or two.
Since 2011 the market has been run entirely by volunteers, with West Norwood residents and businesses working together to make it a success. Being a FEAST volunteer is a great way to make new friends and have a lot of fun at the same time as doing something really feel-good and positive for the local community.
Volunteers are needed on FEAST days as well as in the weeks in between for planning, so whether you can only spare a few hours once a month or a few hours once a week, we’d love to hear from you!
All we ask is that you’re friendly and enthusiastic. If you have skills and experience you’d like to share (maybe you’re a trained first aider or designer, have a financial or business background, experience in marketing or communications, or you’re good at IT or liaising?), or perhaps even have local authority or entertainment contacts, that’s a bonus.
So if you want to get involved, you can either fill in the volunteers’ form on the website or contact hello@westnorwoodfeast.comwestnorwoodfeast.com or pop along to one of the open weekly planning meetings to meet the gang and have your say (they’re every Tuesday 6.30–8.00 at either The Hope pub on Norwood High Street in colder months or the Railway Tavern near Tulse Hill station when it’s warmer).
