Curi­ous SE27 Art Trail

An excit­ing new pro­ject from Feast and Sta­tion to Sta­tion – show­cas­ing artists in local shops & ven­ues from Knight’s Hill to Tulse Hill

1 Rose­berys Auc­tion House
A cur­ated selec­tionof con­tem­por­ary art by South Lon­don-based artists.

2 Mad­dis­ons
Cass Kirchner’s atmo­spher­ic nar­rat­ive boxes made from found and lost objects from the past can be viewed in the win­dow.

3 Por­tico Gal­lery
Presents Chilean artist Rodrigo Luna.

4 Art & Craft
Draw­ings and paint­ings by Hugh Gilmour and ceram­ic sculp­tures by Jane Mil­lar.

5 Otter Trad­ing
Works on paper by Agnieszka Stando.

6 The Great North Wood, upstair­sres­taur­ant room
Bone china prin­ted plates by artist Robert Dawson.

7 The Book & Record Bar
Signs in Motion Prints, paint­ings and mobiles by Yair Meshoulam and Mar­tin Grover.

8 St Lukes Church
A selec­tion of large paint­ings by Curi­ous SE27 artists.

9 Flor­al Hall
Ceram­ic sculp­tures by Emma Fenelon.

10 Mosa­ic Work­shop
Come and view a vari­ety of mosa­ic art­works on dis­play at Mosa­ic Work­shop as well as lots of other mosa­ic mater­i­als on 3rd Septem­ber.

11 Bon Velo
Duncan McAfee is show­ing small sculp­tures and 2D works.

12 North­wood Estate Agents
Prints by Lucy Bain­bridge.

13 Knowles of Nor­wood
Local artist Tomas Stando will show his work in the lounge area of Knowles. PLUS Artists from Bain­bridge Stu­di­os show their work on the easels in a one-day event for FEAST on 3rd Septem­ber.

14 Beam­ish & McGlue
Julia McK­en­zie cre­ates paper cut poetry and laser cut gar­dens for the win­dows.

15 POP West Nor­wood
Marc Elmes cre­ates an art work for the win­dow. Open­ing 3rd Septem­ber.

16 The cir­cu­lar plant­ers on Nor­wood Road south of Elmcourt Road
Poetry Slabs presents: Man of Let­ters, A con­crete poetry work on the ground – just add water.

17 Lantana Estates, next to Tulse Hill Sta­tion
Paint­ings and tex­tile media art­works by Phil Dob­son and Jane Camp­bell.

West Norwood and Tulse Hill Food Week, 24th June — 2nd July

West Nor­wood and Tulse Hill’s third annu­al Food Week starts next week, from 24th June — 2nd July, cel­eb­rat­ing the cul­ture, diversity and cre­ativ­ity in our area.
Fea­tur­ing storytelling, art, live music, fam­ily-friendly events and much more.

 

Some of SE27’s favour­ite local pubs and res­taur­ants will be par­ti­cip­at­ing, plus pop-up events in more unusu­al ven­ues.

 

We will start off with The Great North Wood’s WoodFest, a two-day cel­eb­ra­tion of live music and good food, beer and cider, with activ­it­ies for kids, and a hogroast on Sunday.

 

You can choose between the very best of con­tem­por­ary Brit­ish food at Knowles of Nor­wood on Monday (Book here) or a styl­ish mod­ern Itali­an menu at The Garden on Tues­day (Book here)

Whilst Tulse Hill Hotel is bring­ing fish, chips, battered saveloy and deep fried Mars Bars to town for one night only.

 

On Wed­nes­day, Park Hall Busi­ness Centre are host­ing a unique storytelling event fea­tur­ing local food­ie busi­nesses and fea­tur­ing Indi­an street food from Lucknow 2 London, wine, loc­ally brewed beer and of course Vol­cano cof­fee. Book a free ticket here

POP West Norwood, the new hair salon on the high street, will be fea­tur­ing a local artist, Mr Dane, paint­ing their win­dows on Thursday — a one-off live art event not to be missed, free to drop in and watch him at work!

The Por­tico Gal­lery are put­ting on a fant­ast­ic com­munity meal for all the fam­ily on Fri­day, with arts and crafts and junk mod­el­ling for the kids in con­junc­tion with local artists. Book Here (free for chil­dren under 6)

There are two chances to sample some­thing new on Sat­urday — after­noon tea from Fran­gi­pani launch­ing a brand new menu, (Book here) and an Indi­an Feast with Bol­ly­wood sing­er at Vil­lage Masaleh.

 

Finally on Sunday we’ll wrap it all up with July Feast, and the L’Arche Sum­mer Fair at Goth­ic Lodge on Idmis­ton Road.
