Summer is here!
Well the weather may be a bit up and down but Feast will always bring out the sunshine. Come along on July 4th and meet with the local community, say hi to our wonderful volunteers, grab some tasty food and maybe a gift or two.
Live music returns to West Norwood Feast!
Music @ St Luke’s /Food Fair:
We are beyond excited to welcome the return of live music so make sure to come along and show your support. We still need to be Covid aware and will therefore be keeping the audience to thirty people in front of the church and asking you to stay in your ‘bubbles’. We’ll make sure our bands can be heard further down the Food Fair area.
The Uffingtons @ 12.15 – 13.00pm: Feast regulars, playing lazy Sunday classic covers
The All-Nighter Project @ 13.15 – 13.45pm: A great live jam of positive reggae and hip-hop
The Conquering Heroes @ 14.00 – 14.30pm: Amazing local high-energy folk/ceilidh band
The 49ers @ 15.00 – 15.45pm: Highly polished classic pop and post-punk covers band from Herne Hill
Music @ Artisans’ Market:
Yellow Submarine head honcho Gareth Shapiro and DJ Luke Plowden will be playing the perfect Sunday afternoon soundtrack down at the Artisans’ Market on Chatsworth Way. Yellow Submarine is a local online radio station that grew out of lockdown in early 2020, and is gaining a strong reputation for its eclectic programming and high quality sets across a range of genres. Music @ Village Green:
Feast regular DJ Glen will be playing his usual soulful tunes at Village Green to set the vibe for a lovely Sunday afternoon.
FRESH N GREEN
Fresh and Green Hub situated outside of the Library and Picturehouse has a range of traders selling cold food, gifts and more. Fruition Preserves will be selling their delicious home-made sauces, compotes and preserves and granola. Treat yourself or someone else! There’s a welcome return for Fi’s Fudge, bringing a yummy selection of home made fudge.

FOOD FAIR
As usual, we have a wide range of tasty treats in our Food Fair in St Luke’s garden. Popular food trader Agua Na Boca will be selling their Brazillian delicacies such as Salgadinhos (pastry savouries), Gourmet Brigadeiros (chocolate truffles) and Churros (delicious doughnuts filled with chocolate or salted caramel) from his tricycle.
Gwen from Sweet Sensations will be offering her delicious cakes. So if you fancy a sweet treat check out her stall.
VILLAGE GREEN
We are delighted to welcome back Dr Bike to Village Green. Dr Bike is a free service and will look at your brakes, tyres, gears and the general road-worthiness of your bike.Bring your bikes for a free check up and cycling advice. Find out more on the Lambeth website or email cycling@lambeth.gov.uk
We also have a brand new trader – My Gorgeous Cards and Maps, selling wonderful vintage map tea towels of West Norwood & surrounding areas. Vintage map prints of South London. Gorgeous arty & vintage style greeting cards. Great for presents.
If you’re feeling hungry check out Flavours and Mr B for super tasty jerk chicken and more. Follow this up with a sweet treat from the ever popular Brett and Bailey.
Our lovely partners – Movers & Makers, led by Jessie – will be offering a FREE, fun zero waste ‘activity for children to take home and enjoy. This month it’s ‘Crafty Caps’. Make, decorate and show off your own paper cap all ready for the sunshine!
ARTISANS’ MARKET
We are happy to host Feast regulars Hokolo – selling their Colourful patterned homeware + accessories inspired by Scandinavian and mid century modern inspired designs @hokolo_london.
Another lovely trader, Louise Kamara of Ply coasters returns to Feast this month. Her vintage map plywood coasters and placemats are handmade in Crystal palace, using FSC birch plywood and low VOC sealant. Lots of local area through the decades, plus discarded book pages (ships, flowers, etc) and comics. Counter bags made from the leftover pages and atlas indexes and biodegradable clear film sleeves.
Featured Trader of the Month – Art By Box
Created by artists and designers, Dina and Tracy who have more than 30 years of Art and Design teaching to adults and children 1 on 1, in groups and in the classroom. They are passionate about the holistic benefits that the creative process brings to people and to the communities they are part of. Check out their website Create by box.

Featured Local organisation of the Month – Ashdon Jazz
Local organisation Ashdon Jazz who work with young women aged 11 to 21 are looking for mentors to join their organisation and support young women. Get in touch with them if you are interested in volunteering. They are also offering a free summer programme, weekly girls-only night on Wednesdays and weekly book club. Keeping our visitors safe is a priority for Feast. We will continue to implement our social distancing measures so you can feel confident to enjoy your visit. Feast will be as wonderful as ever but we ask you to observe social distancing. There will be signs at each Hub explaining our measures.
