- FEAST 1st Sunday of the month, 10am–4pm
The heatwave isn’t over yet – this Sunday’s FEAST theme is Summer! Why go on holiday when you can enjoy everything West Norwood has to offer?
Expect seasonal fruit, gardening tips to handle the drought, knotted hankies and as much shade as we can muster. We’ve even got our own hashtag #longhotsummerof2018
Simple garden saviours: Garden looking a little worse for wear? Terry, our resident green fingered expert, will be on hand from 2pm to give gardening tips to get you through the drought.
Splash around! Bring any water squirters or old bicycle pumps you have lying around for a fun way to cool down. We’ll have a large yellow bucket filled with water for splashing so join in but be warned – expect to get wet!
Craft for kids! Take part in bubble painting and drawing – even our crafts are summer themed, with ice cream, lolly pop and sunshine colouring in sheets.
Portico pick: The Portico Bloom summer art project is in full swing, with ice creams made out of sponge and lanterns. Don’t forget to check it out!
Browse and buy from some some of the amazing businesses our local area has to offer. South London based Jonna Saarinen will be showcasing Nordic screen printed textiles and homeware, while Samantha Warren is back with her beautiful, colourful printed bags and accessories.
If you or your kids are feeling crafty yourself, you’ll have the chance to help create the seaside at the Artisan hub by decorating shells, starfish and fish with paint.
Be sure to get a huge tube of popcorn from the infamous and incredibly popular Drum & Kernel to see you through the summer – they’ll be in their usual spot!
Making a return to the Fresh n’ Green hub will be Fish Tale, selling their very popular combo of oysters and prosecco again.
New this month is Akindo Food, Japenese street food with a menu boasting chicken katsu burgers and yakisoba noodles. We predict a sell out! We’re very pleased to welcome back Hao Hao Chi this month, long term FEAST favourites, who’ve been busy opening their permanent base at Peckham Levels. Spice up your buns, for the two Maxes will be back again this month with their Chorizo buns @westnorwoodfeast.combarchorizo.
Drink up! We’ve got refreshments covered, with The Great North Wood’s pop up bar selling drinks from Brixton Brewery, and homemade lemonade from regular stalls including The Tartelettes and Brett & Bailey.
Make the most of the gorgeous bumper crop of summer fruit! Cherry Berry will be selling delicious strawberries, raspberries, cherries and the sweetest red gooseberries. Wash them down with a juice or two!
Also featuring at the Family Hub is the Porterhouse Rum Bar – get in the holiday spirit, try their different rum punch tasters and rate the best one!
Turn back time and have a Retro holiday! Wear your knotted hanky and play board games in the shade – we’ll have extra gazebos and cold drinks on standby to help you cool down in the heat.
Sisters of the Moon will be back with their gorgeous vintage wares instagram.com/sotmvintage
