- FEAST 1st Sunday of the month, 10am–4pm
This Sunday’s Feast has a rather ‘paw-some’ event happening at the Family Hub by the Leisure Centre… we’re having a Dog Show! Taking place from 1pm-3pm, bring your pooch or just come along and show your support to the pups competing in categories including Waggiest Tail and Best Dressed Dog. With thanks to Dog Show sponsors Norwood Road Veterinary Surgery, and The Pet Coach, Buywise Pet Supplies and Red Harbour for their kind support.
Elsewhere at Feast we have our usual favourite stalls across five brilliant hubs.
See you there!
There’s loads to do this Sunday at the Family Hub!
We have the West Norwood Feast Dog Show 1-3pm (registration from 12pm). The South Lambeth Play Partners team and Camp Allstars are celebrating summer and will have a small paddling pool and some buckets, plus a badminton net up before the dog show for some beach volley ball! The lovely Maths Explorers will be there as always, making maths fun!
For kids, we’ve got plenty of crafty activities planned. As part of our mission to teach more about sustainability, we want children to bring one piece of non-recyclable plastic to Sally’s Art Table at Artisans’ Market to go towards our new sea-themed sculpture. There’s also an opportunity to play with the sand table and paint shells too.
Find the Norwood Planning Assembly with Norwood Action Group at the Family Hub this Sunday, where they’ll be sharing their vision of a greener West Norwood. Come and share your thoughts too!
By the Feast HQ stall inside the gardens of St Luke’s we have Norwood Forum and South Norwood’s community cinema group, Screen 25.
Plastic Free West Norwood make a welcome return, and will be on hand to give advice on becoming more environmentally friendly. They’ll also be selling their brilliant reusable shopping bags too.
Joining them is Lambeth Community Solar, where you can learn about the community-owned solar energy project to install panels on school and community buildings in the borough.
You can find the Green Stalls in the Family Hub by the leisure centre at the end Devane Way.
Looking for gift ideas? Author and illustrator Lisa Stickley will be back signing books and selling her prints, original illustrations and cushions.
At this hub you can also find our Tea & Talk Table, a space where older people in the community can come for free cuppa and a chat with one of our friendly volunteers.
Raise a toast to new stallholders (who also have a business on Knight’s Hill in West Norwood…) The Good Drinker, who will be selling delicious wines from across the globe.
Making a return to the hub is Fish Tale (pictured), with a stall packed full of colourful produce, fresh and smoked fish and of course, their delicious fishcakes…
Get set for some seriously mouthwatering dishes! We have two new traders coming, Jump to the Beet, selling plant based Mexican inspired street food and Maame T’s Kitchen who make African inspired dishes.
Regular Feast foodies Brett & Bailey return this Sunday with a truly colourful collection of bakes in honour of Pride weekend.Expect fruity rainbow lemon bars, rainbow cookies and make sure you grab yourself a slice of their rainbow layer cake before it sells out!
A hotbed of brilliant food, jewellery, fashion and wellbeing, the Family Hub has an eclectic mix of unique stalls. This month we have a bar, run by West Norwood based brewers Second Wave! For kids (and even grown ups) who love crepes, Le Creperie Anglaise is back this month, yay! Regulars Meeka Jewellery return with their beautiful handmade jewellery as do the folks from Istanbul Market – get yourself a gorgeous towel for the beach?
And of course the Dog Show will be taking place by the Family Hub from 1pm-3pm!
New to Retro this month is Brixton based RegalRagsLondon, selling both women’s and men’s vintage fashion.
HeartandSoul Records will be back spinning tunes and selling vinyl. Be sure to catch him this month because he’s taking a well-deserved summer break in August!
